Autumnal gorgeousness at the Sun Pavilion in Harrogate

A day full of surprises

Lauren and Nathan’s wedding at the Sun Pavilion was the first wedding I’d shot with my new camera. An exciting day for any wedding photographer when you get to test out new gear! I have to say it did me very proud, although I think a wedding as stunning as this would’ve looked pretty epic through most cameras..

I loved this wedding’s vibe; it was certainly a tale of unexpecteds! From capturing Nathan’s surprise as Lauren walked down the aisle to the Jurassic Park theme tune, to a Mariachi band to entertain the guests in the evening! We were even treated to an appearance from the couple’s sausage dog Richmond (what else could you possibly call your sausage dog?).

Off to the Sun Pavilion

The day flowed smoothly (as did the wedding breakfast champagne tower!). Lauren was getting ready with her bridesmaids at her parents’ house in Harrogate, before heading to the beautiful St Winifred’s Church where her dapper groom was awaiting her arrival. After some confetti outside the church, the guests headed to the Sun Pavilion on a vintage London bus!

At the nearby Valley Gardens in Harrogate, we managed to get some portraits of the newlyweds (and a cheeky ice cream) amid weeping willows, acers and stunning autumn colours.

All the guests were enjoying some food and fizz in the sunshine on the Sun Pavilion terrace overlooking the beautiful gardens, and awaiting the arrival of the bride and groom. The entire wedding had such a homely feel, as lots of the guests had provided a myriad of wedding cakes for the occasion (bake-off style!).

It really was a delightful day from start to finish, rounded off with a truly epic dancefloor and encouraged by the Mariachi band!
