10 years as a wedding photographer!
10 years ago, I photographed a wedding for a friend who initially wasn’t going to have a photographer. More than 300 weddings later and here we are!
Photography was always my favourite hobby from the age of 11, but the truth is I never planned to be a wedding photographer. My first love was for wildlife photography, then food photography – it was only once I had shot my first few weddings that I totally fell in love with them. And the rest as they say, is history.
I think one of the loveliest things about photographing weddings is that every day I’m ‘at work’, it’s also the best day of my couples’ lives. Imagine how happy the world would be if everyone’s clients were having the best day of their lives! Constantly being surrounded by happy people brings me so much joy, and the fact I get to call that my job is pretty cool.
Though I’m mainly based in Ilkley in Yorkshire, wedding photography has taken me all across the UK as well as abroad.

From the beginning my work has always been very colourful, and I always aim to keep my photography fun – both to look at and to create. Getting to know my couples is a massive part of what I do – I don’t just turn up on the day and take pictures. These relationships are incredibly important to me, and I’ve always felt they help me take better photos when we all get on so well together.
I’ve been photographing weddings for 10 years now, and there have been some very special highlights along the way…
Professionally, I won an award for outstanding customer service at the North of England Wedding awards, as well as had my photos published in national magazines including Vogue. More personally, one of my proudest achievements was being asked to go back to my old primary school to be featured on their wall of inspiration, as well as talk to some of the children about my job.
So here we are, the big event – I would LOVE to give you the chance to win your wedding photography, a prize worth £2500.
From the excitement of getting ready on the wedding morning, right through to a few songs after your first dance in the evening.
To get you and your partner used to being in front of the camera before the wedding day, as well as a whole set of photos you can use for your wedding invites, guestbooks or welcome signs.
Of photos that you can share with friends and family, download from as many times as you like, with high quality unwatermarked images from your wedding day and engagement shoot.
To any wedding venue in mainland UK. Travel fees may apply to weddings that are taking place further afield.
Though the following are not included within the main competition prize, you may wish to add on a second photographer, wedding albums and extra hours after the first dance.

This competition is perfect for couples who would love happy and colourful photos to remember their wedding day by. Before entering this competition, please ensure your taste aligns with my style of photography. At the end of the day these will be your wedding photos that you will look back on forever, so please don’t enter just because it’s free! If you’re more of a fan of muted colours, or a dark and moody style of photography, this probably isn’t the competition for you.
I would love for the winner of the competition to have a wedding that is focussed around atmosphere and having fun rather than everything being perfect. Lots of colour is a huge bonus, whether that’s your bridesmaids’ dresses, flowers or something totally different.
I love a barn wedding, but I also love the opportunity to photograph a wedding that’s totally different from what I usually do. Stately homes, a wedding at your parents’ house, an iconic landmark, an elopement abroad, a mini festival – I can’t wait to hear what you have planned!
The competition will run throughout June, with entries closing at midnight on 30th June 2026.
A winner will be selected after the closing date and will be contacted via email by Wednesday 7th July 2026.
If the chosen winner does not respond within 72 hours, a new winner will be selected for the prize.
To enter this competition, you must already have a date and wedding venue confirmed. Your date must fall between Thursday 8th July 2026 and Sunday 31st December 2028.
Yes absolutely! If your entry is successful, you’ll receive the full day wedding photography package at no extra charge, however your booking fee will remain non-refundable.
Unfortunately you must have a wedding date and venue secured to enter the competition.
Absolutely! Much as I love a Yorkshire wedding, I’m always very happy to travel further afield for weddings and to discover new places.
Travel and accommodation costs are included within the winning prize anywhere within mainland UK, however travel fees may apply for weddings that are further afield.
You certainly can. The winner will receive full day wedding photography from getting ready until a few songs after the first dance in the evening, however a second photographer, extra evening hours and wedding albums may be added on for an additional cost.
So there you have it – the chance to win your wedding photography totally free of charge, worth a whopping £2500! I hope you’re as excited about this giveaway as I am!
Thank you for helping me celebrate 10 years in business – being a wedding photographer is an absolute joy and I wish you all the very best of luck in this competition. Hopefully I’ll be seeing you at your wedding very soon!
